Job Description

A real estate investment firm is seeking a Senior Director of Regional Property Management to oversee and scale a portfolio of high-end Class A multifamily properties across the Western U.S. This pivotal leadership role will be responsible for direct operations of multiple properties, building out standard operating procedures, managing onsite teams, overseeing budgets, training staff, and driving consistent community engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a dynamic, entrepreneurial self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on environment and has proven experience scaling residential portfolios from the ground up. Applicants must be based in California, as regional travel and proximity to key markets are essential.

Salary Range: $160,000 – $180,000 year / DOE

Senior Director of Regional Property Management Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations across a growing portfolio of multifamily residential properties in multiple states
  • Develop and implement SOPs, training manuals, and operational systems to support onsite teams
  • Hire, train, and manage all onsite property management and maintenance staff, including directors and site leads
  • Ensure community-building activities are consistently executed across properties
  • Drive operational efficiencies through process improvements and team leadership
  • Manage property budgets end-to-end including staffing, maintenance, and capital improvements
  • Act as the key liaison between asset management, ownership, and property teams
  • Conduct site visits regularly and serve as boots-on-the-ground support for property-level operations

Senior Director of Regional Property Management Requirements:

  • Minimum 5–10 years as a regional property manager overseeing 3–5+ Class A multifamily properties
  • Proven success in first-party property management, not just third-party management
  • Direct experience participating in acquisitions or property takeovers and leading post-transition operations
  • Demonstrated ability to create operational systems, SOPs, and training programs from scratch
  • Track record of hiring, mentoring, and managing high-performing teams
  • Strong budgeting and financial management expertise from staffing to maintenance
  • Proficient with Yardi Suite and Microsoft 365
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and capable of justifying operational decisions with data and results
  • Based in the Bay Area or open to relocation with familiarity managing regional portfolios

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and bonus potential
  • Three medical plan options to choose from
  • Dental and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with 4% company match
  • PTO, 10 paid holidays, and flexible holiday scheduling available
