A boutique commercial construction management firm is seeking motivated, field-savvy Assistant Project Manager who understands the sequencing of commercial construction projects and is eager to grow with a close-knit, long-standing team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in the field, values strong client relationships, and is ready to take ownership of project execution from bid through closeout. They are seeking a hands-on, people-oriented professional with a construction background—someone who knows the job site and wants to expand into a project management role while working for a stable, family-oriented company that puts quality above all.

Salary Range: $70,000 – $75,000 / year DOE

Assistant Project Manager Responsibilities:

• Support Project Managers in executing commercial tenant improvement projects from pre-construction through closeout
• Read and interpret construction plans, specs, and architectural drawings
• Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and subcontractor coordination
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and quality control
• Interface with clients, architects, and subcontractors with professionalism and clear communication
• Ensure documentation is accurate and up-to-date using internal project management systems
• Coordinate and manage material orders, jobsite logistics, and field-level needs
• Support job site safety and cleanliness standards

Assistant Project Manager Requirements:

• 2+ years of commercial construction experience, ideally with interior TI projects
• Comfortable working in the field and understanding job site operations
• Ability to read plans and understand job sequencing
• Strong interpersonal skills; able to communicate with both clients and subcontractors
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and tech-savvy overall
• Must be local to the Los Angeles area and able to travel to job sites
• Reliable transportation
• Spanish bilingual is a plus.
• Experience as a superintendent, tradesman, or other field-based role transitioning into PM support is preferred
• Familiarity with custom or proprietary project management systems
