A respected boutique CPA firm serving high-net-worth individuals and complex entities is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Associate to join their close-knit and high-performing team. Senior Tax Associate Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review complex tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, corporations, partnerships, and private foundations
- Manage tax filings involving restricted stock, stock options, RSUs, multi-K1s, and multi-state scenarios
- Support tax planning by preparing detailed, multi-year personal income tax projections under varying scenarios
- Respond to federal and state tax authority notices and correspondence
- Collaborate directly with the Managing Partner and mentor junior staff
- Stay current on federal and state tax laws and ensure compliance
- Assist with bookkeeping and QuickBooks tasks as needed
- Review client materials and assist with documentation for tax advisory projects
Senior Tax Associate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- CPA or Enrolled Agent is required
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in public accounting, focused on complex tax engagements
- Deep understanding of individual, trust, and corporate tax laws and filings
- Experience with high-net-worth clients
- Proficiency with UltraTax and QuickBooks
- Knowledge of restricted stocks, ISOs/NQSOs, RSUs, and related tax treatments
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Preparing gift tax returns and trust/estate returns experience is a plus
- Handling international income, private investments, and income from multiple states is preferred
- Drafting income tax projections, estimates, and multi-scenario analyses is preferred
- Experience working with sophisticated investment vehicles and planning strategies is a plus
