A premier boutique litigation firm is seeking a highly motivated Contract Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team. In this role, you will work directly with renowned attorneys on complex business litigation and high-stakes insurance coverage matters. Salary Range: $130,000 – $225,000 / year DOE

Contract Associate Attorney Responsibilities:

• Handle complex business litigation cases from inception to resolution
• Draft and respond to discovery and initial pleadings, dispositive motions, and agency position statements
• Prepare legal research and draft legal memoranda
• Assist in preparing for and taking depositions
• Support partners in developing case strategy and preparing summary judgment motions
• Attend client meetings and grow into a client-facing role
• Manage urgent deadlines and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Meet a billable hours requirement

Contract Associate Attorney Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active member of the California State Bar
• 2–7 years of complex business litigation experience; Big or Medium Law preferred
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
• Demonstrated experience with civil code and procedure, summary judgment motions, and depositions
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of Coyote, WestLaw, and Epic is a plus
• Self-starter with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills
• Complex insurance coverage litigation experience on the defense side is a plus
• Prior experience at a reputable law firm with a strong litigation training program is preferred
