Job Description

A respected law firm is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Litigation Paralegal to join their collaborative legal team. This role will support attorneys in managing complex litigation matters for local governments across Georgia. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and capable of handling both paralegal and legal assistant responsibilities in a fast-paced, professional environment. They are looking for someone who enjoys working closely with attorneys and clients, thrives on staying organized, and wants to be part of a stable, friendly firm where people truly enjoy what they do.

Litigation Paralegal Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys with legal research, case preparation, and drafting basic pleadings and motions
  • Manage discovery process: draft requests, track responses, and summarize findings
  • Maintain court calendars and case timelines, ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Prepare and organize exhibits, trial binders, and hearing materials
  • Conduct factual research to support case development and trial preparation
  • Answer and triage calls from the ACCG Helpline, documenting inquiries and routing follow-up
  • Draft and manage correspondence related to case updates and client communications
  • Maintain organized physical and electronic case files
  • Coordinate with attorneys, clients, and external parties as needed
  • Support routine administrative and billing tasks as assigned

Litigation Paralegal Requirements:

  • 3+ years of paralegal experience, litigation experience required
  • High school diploma required
  • Paralegal Certificate required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong client service skills and a professional, friendly demeanor
  • Experience in local government law is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred
