A well-established construction company specializing in environmentally friendly commercial roofing solutions is seeking a Site Safety Officer to join their team in Campbell, CA. This critical, boots-on-the-ground role is responsible for ensuring that all job sites remain in compliance with OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations, while also supporting employees through proper training, equipment use, and ongoing safety oversight. The Site Safety Officer will develop and manage safety training programs, maintain up-to-date documentation, conduct regular site inspections, and collaborate with field supervisors and leadership to ensure safety remains a top priority across all projects. The ideal candidate is a hands-on, detail-oriented safety professional with a proactive mindset and strong communication skills, someone who thrives in a fast-paced, tight-knit team environment and is deeply committed to keeping people safe.

Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000 / year DOE

Site Safety Officer Responsibilities: 

• Monitor and enforce safety protocols and procedures across construction sites
• Conduct safety orientations and implement ongoing safety training programs
• Maintain training and certification records for all employees and equipment
• Perform regular site inspections to identify and correct potential hazards
• Investigate and document incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions
• Ensure all safety documentation and compliance records are up to date
• Develop and train teams on emergency preparedness procedures
• Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to integrate safety plans
• Oversee the proper use and maintenance of PPE
• Manage and catalog certifications for heavy equipment operations

Site Safety Officer Requirements: 

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a site safety officer or equivalent role
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• OSHA 30-Hour Certification required
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA regulations
• Experience creating and maintaining safety training and documentation systems
• Comfortable conducting site inspections and leading safety discussions
• Experience in roofing or similar construction settings highly preferred
• CSP or CHST certification preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to learn safety software tools
