Position Title: Site Superintendent

Salary Range: $90,000–$120,000 / DOE plus a discretionary annual bonus of $20,000–$30,000

A growing multifamily construction firm is seeking a hands-on Site Superintendent to lead daily field operations for large-scale multifamily and mixed-use developments throughout the Madison, Wisconsin area. This role will oversee subcontractors, enforce safety and quality standards, manage project schedules and documentation, and ensure each project is completed according to plans, specifications, and company expectations. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, tech-savvy field leader who understands how to manage multiple priorities, hold subcontractors accountable, and keep complex construction projects moving forward.

Site Superintendent Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate all onsite personnel, subcontractors and daily construction activities
  • Ensure work is completed safely, accurately and according to company quality standards
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and verify that work complies with plans, specifications and project requirements
  • Build productive relationships with owners, architects, engineers, design professionals and municipal representatives
  • Develop and update project schedules in collaboration with Project Managers
  • Support cost control efforts by identifying schedule risks, field issues and potential delays
  • Maintain accurate jobsite records, including plans, specifications, RFIs, submittals, daily logs, delivery tickets, timecards and project photos
  • Lead project closeout activities, including punch lists, commissioning and owner training
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional jobsite and construction office
  • Communicate field expectations clearly and resolve issues quickly
  • Mentor field personnel and contribute to the continued development of the company’s construction team

Site Superintendent Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • At least 2–3 years of experience as a Superintendent or highly capable Assistant Superintendent
  • Experience managing construction projects valued at $2 million or more
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to oversee multiple subcontractors and priorities
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, safety, quality control and field operations
  • Advanced organizational, documentation and problem-solving skills
  • High level of comfort using construction technology and project management systems
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, Adobe and Autodesk Build
  • Valid Wisconsin driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to work onsite from approximately 6:00–6:30 a.m. to 3:30–4:30 p.m.
  • Willingness to work occasional weekends based on project needs
