Position Title: Personal Injury Litigation Attorney
Salary Range: $80,000–$225,000 / DOE, plus a discretionary year-end performance bonus typically ranging from $10,000–$20,000
A fast-growing plaintiff personal injury firm is seeking a Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to manage a full caseload of litigated matters from filing through resolution. This attorney will oversee approximately 80–100 cases, conduct and defend depositions, handle discovery and motion practice, participate in mediations and court appearances, negotiate settlements, and work closely with a dedicated legal support team to move cases forward efficiently. The ideal candidate is a direct, passionate, and results-driven California attorney with at least two years of plaintiff personal injury litigation experience. This individual must understand case evaluation, communicate without unnecessary fluff, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where strong performance is recognized and rewarded.
Personal Injury Litigation Attorney Responsibilities:
- Manage a full caseload of approximately 80–100 litigated plaintiff personal injury matters from filing through resolution
- Take full ownership of cases and consistently move them toward settlement or other successful resolution
- Conduct and defend depositions involving plaintiffs, defendants, witnesses, and experts
- Draft and respond to discovery, motions, pleadings, and other legal documents
- Evaluate liability, damages, case value, and potential settlement strategies
- Prepare for and participate in mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and court appearances
- Negotiate settlements and pursue strong outcomes for clients
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, insurance adjusters, opposing counsel, experts, and other parties
- Develop case strategies in collaboration with paralegals, litigation assistants, legal secretaries, case managers, and firm leadership
- Maintain organized and accurate case files, deadlines, documentation, and communications within the firm’s cloud-based case management system
- Use automation and AI-supported tools to streamline drafting, filing, case tracking, and workflow management
- Provide clients with timely updates and straightforward guidance throughout the litigation process
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced, settlement-focused environment with no billable-hour requirement
Personal Injury Litigation Attorney Requirements:
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active membership in good standing with the California State Bar
- At least 2 years of litigation experience within a personal injury law firm
- Plaintiff-side personal injury experience required
- Proven experience conducting and defending depositions
- Experience with mediations, settlement negotiations, and case evaluation
- Strong discovery, motion drafting, legal research, and litigation skills
- Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload while meeting deadlines
- Strong judgment, organization, attention to detail, and follow-through
- Clear, concise, and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Genuine passion for representing injured clients and achieving meaningful results
- Willingness and ability to work on-site in Lawndale, California
- Filevine experience preferred
- Experience using Gmail, RingCentral, and AI-powered legal technology is a plus
