A premier sheet metal manufacturer and installer is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Construction Estimator to join their growing team. In this role, you will play a critical part in analyzing project plans, performing precise quantity take-offs, and developing accurate cost estimates for sheet metal and metal panel projects. You’ll collaborate directly with clients, contractors, and internal teams to deliver competitive proposals and help drive the company’s continued growth. Salary Range: $25 – $50 / hourly

Construction Estimator Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to understand project scopes and requirements
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs and determine material selection based on project specifications
• Develop comprehensive cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and job-related expenses
• Prepare and submit detailed bid proposals, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
• Communicate regularly with clients, contractors, architects, engineers, and internal teams
• Identify project risks and propose alternative solutions to ensure profitability and efficiency
• Maintain organized records of all bid submissions and project documentation
• Support awarded projects by reviewing final contracts and assisting project managers with hand-offs
• Build and maintain strong vendor and client relationships

Construction Estimator Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field OR 3-5 years of relevant estimating experience
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal materials, labor systems, and industry practices
• Proven ability to read and interpret architectural blueprints and project specifications
• Proficiency in Bluebeam and other estimating software
• Excellent math, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and negotiation skills with the confidence to present proposals to clients
• Experience managing bid processes and working directly with contractors
• Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively under tight deadlines
• 2+ years of experience in construction estimating with a focus on sheet metal is a plus
• Advanced knowledge of material and labor cost trends is preferred
• Familiarity with bid strategies and pricing models to ensure competitive advantage
