A rapidly growing residential construction company based in San Diego is looking for a Construction Estimator to join their team. Specializing in high-end remodels, custom homes, and small multifamily developments, the company is seeking someone who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment. This role will involve creating accurate estimates, collaborating with contractors, and ensuring project profitability. Salary Range: $80,000 – $90,000 / year DOE

Construction Estimator Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for residential construction projects, including remodels, custom homes, and ADUs
• Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to determine materials, labor costs, and project timelines
• Ensure all estimates are aligned with project goals and client expectations
• Review blueprints, specifications, and other project documents to prepare estimates
• Maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors to secure competitive pricing
• Participate in project meetings to monitor costs and adjust estimates as necessary
• Contribute to the development of new systems and processes to streamline estimating functions

Construction Estimator Requirements:

• 3–5+ years of experience in residential construction estimating, focusing on projects of various sizes, from small remodels to large custom builds
• Proficiency with estimating software and advanced Excel skills
• Strong understanding of San Diego’s construction market, including subs and permitting
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify cost-saving opportunities
• Strong communication skills, able to work effectively with both internal teams and external vendors
• Ability to work onsite 5 days a week at the San Diego office
• Experience with custom builds, remodels, and ADUs is highly preferred
