A general contractor in Kansas City, MO is seeking a Commercial Superintendent to join a growing team focused on new construction and renovation projects in the $1M–$6M range. This onsite role is responsible for overseeing subcontractor work, maintaining project schedules, ensuring safety standards, processing RFIs and change orders, and occasionally sourcing additional materials as needed. The ideal candidate will be highly proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Commercial Superintendent Responsibilities: 

• Oversee all onsite construction activities, ensuring work is completed safely and to specifications
• Maintain project schedules and update stakeholders on progress and changes
• Manage subcontractor work and ensure high-quality execution
• Process RFIs and change orders
• Update project completion photos in Red Team
• Source additional materials as needed from local vendors
• Communicate proactively with project managers and team members
• Monitor and enforce site safety protocols
• Assist in maintaining job site cleanliness and organization

Commercial Superintendent Requirements: 

• 10 or more years of experience in the construction industry
• 5 to 10 years of hands-on construction management experience
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents
• Tech-savvy with proficiency in Red Team, Procore, PlanGrid, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Project
• Strong attention to detail and high safety awareness
• Excellent communication skills with a proactive approach
• Ability to work onsite Monday through Friday and occasionally Saturdays as needed
• Comfortable working 40–50 hours per week with flexible scheduling based on project demands
