A dedicated full-service personal injury law firm in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking two Associate Attorneys to join their team, focusing on Plaintiff Personal Injury and Workers’ Compensation cases. This role involves handling a variety of legal tasks, including litigation, court appearances, legal research, and client advocacy. The ideal candidate will be passionate about representing individuals and committed to providing high-quality legal services.

Associate Attorney Responsibilities: 

• Handle workers’ compensation and personal injury cases from inception to resolution
• Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, and prepare legal documents
• Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials
• Participate in case strategy meetings and collaborate with senior attorneys
• Conduct client consultations and provide legal guidance
• Manage discovery, including document review and interrogatories
• Investigate claims, gather evidence, and interview witnesses
• Assist with settlement negotiations and trial preparation
• Maintain case files and manage deadlines
• Participate in weekly firm meetings discussing legal issues, marketing, and operations

Associate Attorney Requirements: 

• Must be barred in Michigan
• Litigation experience, including clerkships, is preferred
• 1-5 years of experience in personal injury and/or workers’ compensation is preferred
• Experience in plaintiff or defense work, with a commitment to advocating for clients
• Background in Social Security disability law is a plus
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
• Willingness to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment
