Are you an experienced construction professional with a passion for problem-solving and hands-on work? A leading soil stabilization company is seeking Geo-Technical Drillers to join their expert team in Hillsboro, OR. As a Geo-Technical Driller, you’ll work in the field performing vertical drilling operations to assess soil, rock, and groundwater characteristics for site investigations, foundation designs, and environmental assessments. This is a full-time, on-site role offering competitive pay, frequent overtime, and significant growth opportunities within a stable, innovative company. Geo-Technical Driller Responsibilities:
- Perform geotechnical drilling, including Hollow Stem Auger (HSA), Mud Rotary, and Rock Coring
- Install monitoring wells, water wells, and geotechnical instruments such as slope inclinometers and standpipe piezometers
- Conduct barge drilling operations as needed
- Operate and maintain equipment, including vertical drills, excavators, and tractor trailers
- Transport equipment to and from job sites, ensuring safe and efficient setup and teardown
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to collect and deliver accurate soil and rock samples
- Prepare and inspect drilling machinery, ensuring it is in good working condition before each job
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment on-site
- Provide support in troubleshooting and performing minor equipment repairs
- Maintain detailed records of samples, materials used, and project progress
Geo-Technical Driller Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in construction
- Experience with Hollow Stem Auger (HSA), Mud Rotary, and Rock Coring drilling techniques
- Ability to lead a project from start to finish
- CDL license or willingness to obtain
- Physically fit to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors year-round, including on steep terrain
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with team members and site personnel
- Team player with a positive attitude and adaptability to learn and grow.
- Attention to detail and ability to work safely in challenging environments
