Scrap Trader
Job Description
A well-established company in the scrap metal trading industry is looking for a skilled Scrap Trader to join their small, dynamic team. Based out of Miami, Florida, this company is known for its hands-on management style=""> Responsibilities:
- Source and purchase valuable non-ferrous scrap metals from factories, demolition sites, and recycling centers
- Conduct market research to track global metal prices, demand, and supply trends to inform trading decisions
- Negotiate with suppliers and buyers to secure favorable prices and terms, maximizing profitability
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners, including suppliers, buyers, and recycling facilities across the globe
- Oversee the logistics and transportation of scrap metals to ensure smooth, cost-effective operations
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to recycling and scrap metal disposal
Requirements:
- Must be able to come in office 5x a week located in Miami, Florida
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the metal scrap trading industry, with a focus on non-ferrous metals
- Experience buying and selling metals from South America and other overseas vendors
- Bilingual in Spanish and English
- High School diploma required
- Strong analytical skills to interpret market data and trends
- Proficiency in using Outlook for communication and coordination
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements in the scrap metal industry preferred
