Non-Profit Accounting Manager - Remote
Job Description
A Nonprofit financial organization involved with community development in San Diego, CA is looking for a Non-profit Accounting Manager to be responsible for overseeing the accounting department. The Non-profit Accounting Manager will lead and manage the finance and accounting team while maintaining relationships with the other departments. The ideal candidate will have experience in accounting, auditing, and a strong understanding of grant/fund accounting.
This position is mostly remote work but it requires the candidate to come into the office in San Diego once a week and attend team meetings once a month. The organization aims to provide financial opportunities for individuals with historically less capital to build successful businesses and strengthen communities. Pay Range: $85,000 - $95,000 DOE
Responsibilities:
- Manage grant accounting and fund accounting
- Oversee loan payment schedules, licensing, and compliance with State lending laws
- Collaborate with auditors and lead process improvements
- Work closely with the operational and lending teams
- Supervise a team of 2 accountants and 1 analyst
- Handle payroll processing and benefits management
- Review and manage transaction processing, including treasury management
- Respond to reimbursement and invoice inquiries
Requirements:
- 8 years of overall accounting experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, financial management, business, or economics
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
- Grant and fund accounting experience (from any industry)
- Experience in financial services and lending organizations is preferred
- Knowledge of audit management processes is preferred
- CPA certification for federal grant reporting is preferred
- Must reside in San Diego area
