Mitigation and Conservation Planning Manager
Job Description
A growing environmental and consulting services firm is on the lookout for an experienced Mitigation and Conservation Planning Manager to manage environmental compliance and conservation efforts in California s Central Valley region! This includes developing and maintaining an environmental permitting compliance program, managing relationships with regulatory agencies, and ensuring that environmental commitments and compensatory mitigation requirements are met. They are looking for candidates with an extensive background in environmental mitigation, with extensive knowledge of environmental regulatory permitting. Located in Fresno, CA, this position offers a flexible hybrid schedule that allows you to work from home 2-3 days/week and the chance to grow your career while making a major impact on significant regional projects!
Pay Range: $35 - $60/hr DOE
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and mentor the environmental compliance team
- Develop and manage an environmental permitting compliance program
- Maintain and enhance agency relationships to amend permits and resolve compliance issues
- Manage the flow of information among various teams to ensure consistency in project delivery and compliance documentation
- Identify and evaluate compensatory mitigation needs and opportunities, securing approvals for off-site mitigation projects
- Ensure alignment of environmental documents with planned activities and Authority's overall objectives
- Schedule regular updates and coordinate with various staff to support program goals
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental mitigation, preferably in California's Central Valley
- Expertise in the Clean Water Act, California Department of Fish and Wildlife regulations, and other relevant federal and state laws
- Proficient in NEPA and CEQA processes
- Bachelor s degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Sciences, Biology, Geography, or a closely related field
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365
- Excellent political acumen and emotional intelligence
- Ability to think outside the box and initiate action
- Strong team player with a personable and supportive approach
