Assembler (Boating Industry)
Job Description
Boutique Recruiting has teamed up with a renowned company in the boating industry to help them find an Assembler! They are looking for someone with at least 2 years of assembly experience, preferably in the boating industry, who has versatile skills to perform both electrical and mechanical assembly work. The position involves maintaining a one-boat-a-week schedule while working across sub-assembly and finishing assembly sections. Pay Range: $20 - $24/hr DOE
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and execute various stages of boat assembly, from initial part installation to final quality checks, ensuring all components meet established standards
- Install parts prior to the addition of large fiberglass components, focusing on accuracy and quality
- Perform electrical installations and plumbing setups within the boat's framework
- Attach hardware on deck and oversee the installation of electronics during the final assembly phase
- Conduct pre-tapping checks to ensure all parts are correctly installed and secure
- Pull parts from inventory and assemble kits for each boat project, demonstrating attention to detail
- Engage in electrical and mechanical assembly tasks, including working with conduits, pipes, and using tools for precise drilling
- Identify and resolve assembly issues promptly to maintain production schedule and quality standards
- Collaborate with the production team to achieve weekly completion schedules, contributing to continuous improvement by suggesting process enhancements
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in assembly or a related field, with experience in the boating industry or similar manufacturing environments preferred
- Capable of performing heavy lifting and moving objects as part of daily tasks
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, and work in various positions for extended periods
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for handling small parts and tools
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; not required if sufficient experience is demonstrated
- Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to read and follow assembly instructions and diagrams
- Experience with hand tools and power tools, including drills, riveters, and wrenches
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety guidelines and procedures
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed to meet production schedules
